AARE 2016 – Karen, Anna, Abby, Pauliina, Margaret, Angela, Sue, Sarah

I attended AARE 2016 at the MCG.

I went to the Sunday workshops for early career researchers and HDR students. This was an informative day very worthwhile.

I only went to the morning keynotes and one session plus the one I presented at.

The one session I went to was Margaret’s collaborative session with the international team of researchers talking about their “naming worlds” project. Here is Pauliina’s blog post about the project:

EVENTS: Congratulations! Pauliina Rautio was awarded an International Discovery Award in Australia

Pauliina’s Blog on AARE kindly mentions my presentation:

EVENTS: Becoming hummus in Melbourne

I met Anna Vladimirova, one the international researchers and a PhD student of Pauliina Rautio. She spoke about seeing a “flash” in the snow and a vision of a group of people, some wearing heavy army coats. She found out later that the spot was where a POW camp had been. Implication is that she saw a vision from a previous time. In her presentation she simply said this was “interesting”. During question time I asked her if that was her “platypus” and how was she going to research that.

Here is link to her blog which also kindly mentions my presentation:
